Following her graduation, she began working for the Association of Palekh Artists.  In the past, the artist  traveled to the United States to exhibit her master pieces.

Bykova paints in the traditional Palekh style, but occasionally she uses her own unique style.  Since 1994, she has been collecting a certain type of postcards that date back to the early 20th century. Its distinctive scenes feature romantic and sentimental pictures with children, that later expressed in many of her art pieces.  Children and fairy tales are her favorite subjects to depict on the lacquer boxes.
